"And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, 'All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that
I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of
the age.'" (Matthew 28: 19-20)
As people of God, called as saints (Romans
1:7; I Corinthians 1:2) and priests (I Peter 2:5,9), the Lord has
instructed all who choose to follow and obey Him to "go and teach."
We are to be the mouth that delivers His word to a lost and dark world.
But...many of us are afraid to go about doing the very thing He has
commanded.
We are not unlike Moses whose account is found in Exodus
3. God called Moses to leadership, and to act as His spokesperson
before Pharaoh saying, "Let My People Go!" (Exodus 7:16). From the
burning bush God spoke to Moses, "Therefore come now, and I will send
you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel,
out of Egypt" (3:9). Moses had the opportunity to be the instrument
that would release God's oppressed and afflicted people from the Egyptians’
bondage, for He had heard their cries, just as He hears our’s today
(Psalm 34:15).
